On February 10, 2026, in the city of Yerevan, a working meeting took place between the President of the China–Armenia Regional Development Fund (the Fund), Dr. Sergey Avanesov, and the President of the Armenian Association of Specialists in Traditional and Alternative Medicine, Dr. Mkrtich Avagyan (the Association). The meeting was also attended remotely by the Director of the Center for Rehabilitation, Preventive and Traditional Medicine “Altmed,” Dr. Vagan Avagyan.

During the meeting, the parties agreed to establish a strategic partnership and direct cooperation for the successful creation and operation of a “Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Center” in Yerevan, as well as for the development of educational programs and medical tourism.

Following the negotiations and the agreements reached, the parties signed a “Memorandum of Understanding and Strategic Cooperation on the Establishment of a Traditional Chinese Medicine Center in Yerevan.”
