Signing of the “Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation Between the Government of Shirak Region of the Republic of Armenia and the Government of Hainan Province of the People's Republic of China”

  During the stay of the Armenian delegation in Hainan (China), as well as in the framework of the the “CHINA (HAINAN) INTERNATIONAL TROPICAL AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTS WINTER TRADE FAIR 2019” in Hainan, 12/13/2019 by the Governor of Hainan (PRC) Mr. Shen Xiaoming and the Governor of Shirak Region (RA) Mr. Petrosyan Tigran signed the “Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation Between the Government of Shirak Region of the Republic of Armenia and the Government of Hainan Province of the People's Republic of China”.
 
  This agreement was the first step in strengthening and establishing close relations between the two regions of the two countries in the field of culture, education, science, medicine, tourism, trade and the economic sphere, agriculture and food industry, as well as in the implementation of large investment projects, construction, energy and mining industry.  Overseeing their implementation on the territory of the Shirak region of the Republic of Armenia was entrusted to the <> (RA).
 
  The parties discussed the possibilities for the implementation of the project of the opening of “Shirak Region Trading Houses” (working name) in Hainan Province and “Hainan Province Trading House” (working name) in Shirak Region.
 
 
  
 
  As the governor of Hainan, Mr. Shen Xiaoming, noted: - Hainan is interested in close cooperation with the Republic of Armenia.  Armenia is one of the oldest states in the world, as well as China.  The joint history of Sino-Armenian friendship dates back to the 13th century.  Armenia is notable in its remarkable lakes, beautiful forest landscapes against the backdrop of green mountains and ravines, ancient history, temples and monasteries, its flavorful and incomparable traditional cuisine, clear water and mountain air. The republic has a strategically important location in the Caucasus, bordering Iran, Turkey, Georgia and Azerbaijan.  The investment potential of the republic is increasing in the field of development of modern technologies, medicine, production of environmentally friendly products, agriculture, and mining industries.  In many areas, China is interested in joint development and implementation, and is ready to invest.
 
  
 
  In order to gain in-depth acquaintance with the Shirak region, the Governor of the Shirak region Mr. Tigran Petrosyan invited the delegation of the government of Hainan, headed by the Governor Mr. Shen Xiaoming, to Armenia with a necessary visit to the Shirak region.
